The Success Story of the 7th International Conference on Future Education 2024 (Future Education 2024)

The 7th International Conference on Future Education 2024 (Future Education 2024) held from 11th – 12th July 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand in a hybrid platform. Future Education 2024 was organized under the theme “Using Modern Technologies to Improve Education”. The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka. The conference united diverse researches and case studies from all over the world, in parallel sessions while offering many networking and publishing opportunities. Moreover, the conference welcomed 150+ Academics, Researchers, Scholars, Activists, Industry Leaders and Professionals from 20+ 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 across the globe.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY AND CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

The opening remarks of Future Education 2024 were made by Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director – The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) and the Conference Chair, Dr. Brian D. Beitzel (Professor of Educational Psychology, School of Education and Human Ecology, State University of New York College, USA). TIIKM successfully facilitated a Partner Gathering to unite representatives from esteemed partner universities worldwide and policymakers at the Future Education 2024 conference, with the purpose “Innovating the Future Education with Technology”. This event aimed to build up transformative collaborations and collective progress in the future of education. Felix Concepcion Veroya is a renowned advocate of lifelong learning in the Philippines, with expertise in Industrial Engineering, Innovation, Sustainability, Analytics, and Continuous Improvement. He graduated as the first Cum Laude of the BS Industrial Engineering program of Batangas State University – The National Engineering University and a 4th place top notcher of the 3rd CIE Examination by the PIIE – IECB. As a Professional Industrial Engineer, Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and Chartered Business Advisor, Felix serves as an Industry Advisory Council member and/or chairman for several universities across the Philippines. He founded PINOY IEs, a 16,000-member online community for Filipino Industrial Engineers. Felix is also an international author of four (4) international e-books, downloaded by Fortune 500 companies about 500,000 times and an international speaker who staged more than 100 talks to – date. His numerous accolades include Outstanding Edupreneur of the Year, ASEAN Start-Up Award Founder of the Year for the Philippines Awardee, 3 – time Asia CEO Awards Entrepeneur of the Year Circle of Excellence Awardee, and Asia CEO Awards 2020 Young Leader of the Year Grand Winner. He is recognized as one of the Top 100 Filipinos and one of the Top 30 Filipino Leaders on LinkedIn and an Honouree of Tatler’s Generation T (GenT) List for championing lifelong learning. He is also helping MSMEs and startups to build their capacity and competencies in operational excellence, quality, and productivity. In his leadership, Ask Lex PH Academy won as the 2022 Asia CEO Awards LBC SME Company of the Year Grand Winner and 2023 Technology Company of the Year Circle of Excellence Awardee. In 2023, he has been awarded the Lean Six Sigma Award by the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) International Society, and has been top finalist of Philippine Chamber of Commerce Incorporated (PCCI) Injap Sia Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award (ISOYEA) 2022 and De La Salle University and PHINMA Group of Companies Ramon V. Dr. Amlan Chakrabarti is a Full Professor in the A.K.Choudhury School of Information Technology at the University of Calcutta. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow at the School of Engineering, Princeton University, USA during 2011-2012. He has 20+ years of experience in Engineering Education and Research. He is the recipient of the DST BOYSCAST fellowship award in Engineering Science (2011), the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Faculty Fellowship (2014), the JSPS Invitation Research Award (2016), Erasmus Mundus Leaders Award (2017), the Hamied Visiting Professorship from University of Cambridge, UK (2018), Siksha Ratna Award by Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal (2018) and has been awarded as the Fellow of West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology (2022). He has also served in various capacities in various higher education organizations both at national and international levels. He has contributed immensely in the development of efficient computer algorithms and systems in multiple projects supervised by him in both International and National levels. He led research and consultancy projects supported by CERN Geneva, GSI Helmholtz Research Laboratory Germany, DST, DRDO MietY, Intel, TCS etc. He is also serving as the Head of IT and Tech. Innovation Cell of the Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal. He has graduated 20 Ph.D. students till date and has published 200+ research papers. He is the Series Editor of Springer Transactions of Computer Systems and Networks, the Series Editor of the Springer Book Series on “Water Informatics”, an Associated Editor of the Elsevier Journal of Computers and Electrical Engineering and Guest Editor of the Springer Journal of Applied Sciences. He is a Sr. Member of IEEE and ACM, IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor, Distinguished Speaker of ACM, Secretary of IEEE CEDA India Chapter, Member of the International Water Association, Vice President of the Data Science Society and Life Member of CSI India. His areas of research are Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Reconfigurable Computing, VLSI CAD and Quantum Computing.

Brian Beitzel is professor of educational psychology at SUNY Oneonta and holds an appointment as Senior Director of Education Accreditation and Assessment there. After completing his Ph.D. at UW-Madison, he received the Paul R. Pintrich Dissertation Award from the American Psychological Association’s Division 15 (Educational Psychology). In 2009 he received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has chaired the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling and Special Education, teaching courses in child development, learning and motivation, assessment, and college study skills. His research, funded in part by the Spencer Foundation, has focused on the risks and benefits of incorporating diagrams into mathematics instruction. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Teaching and Learning and provides support to other journal offices as an editorial board member and consulting editor. During the 2018-2019 academic year, he was a Fellow in the American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program. He has led many site visit teams for AAQEP (a disciplinary accrediting body) and has been appointed to a 4-year term on its Accreditation Commission. At SUNY Oneonta, he led 25 educator preparation programs to successful AAQEP accreditation in 2023.
